Privacy Policy
What this site collects, what it does not, and what happens to anything you send us.
Axivity Ltd is the data controller for this website. This page says what the site collects, why, and what your rights are. It describes the site as built, and the technical claims in it are checked when the site is built.
The short version
This site sets no cookies. It runs no analytics. It loads nothing from anyone else’s server, so no third party sees your visit. Nothing about you is collected by browsing it, and there is nothing here to consent to.
You give us personal information only when you choose to: by requesting a quote, by paying by card, or by writing to us.
What is stored in your browser
If you add something to the basket, the site saves your basket in your own
browser using local storage, under the name axivity.cart.v1. It holds product
codes and quantities and nothing else — no name, no address, no identifier. It
stays on your device, it is never sent anywhere unless you submit a quote
request or go through checkout, and clearing your browser data removes it.
This is storage you asked for by using the basket, so under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations it does not require consent and there is no banner asking for it. Nothing else on the site writes to your browser.
What we collect when you ask for a quote
The quote form asks for your name, email address, institution and country, because we cannot raise a quotation without them. A VAT number and a message are optional. The devices in your basket are sent with the request, so we know what you are asking about.
We use it to answer you and to raise a quotation. The lawful basis is that this is a step you have asked us to take before entering a contract. We do not use it for marketing, and we do not sell or share it with anyone who is not involved in answering you.
What happens when you pay by card
Card payment is handled by Stripe. Your card details are entered on Stripe’s own page and never reach this website or its servers. Axivity receives the order and confirmation that it was paid, not the card number. Stripe is the processor for that payment and holds it under their privacy policy.
Who else is involved
The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare handles the connection between your browser and the site, which necessarily involves your IP address, and keeps short-term operational logs for security and reliability. Axivity does not receive or analyse those logs.
How long we keep things
Quote requests and orders are kept as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry, to fulfil and support your order, and to meet the record-keeping periods that UK tax and company law require of us. We do not keep personal information for longer than those purposes need.
Your rights
Under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 you can ask us to give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you, to correct it if it is wrong, to delete it, to restrict or object to what we do with it, or to send it to someone else where that applies.
There is no charge for any of this. Write to info@axivity.com and we will respond within one month. We will tell you if we need longer, or if we need something from you before we can start.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, which is the UK’s data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk/concerns, by calling 0303 123 1113, or by writing to Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire SK9 5AF.
